CAMP SMITH, NY - As Nor'easter hits on November 7th, New York Guard Sergeant Jim Loughran from Guilderland performs an equipment check on a Humvee just back from a Joint Task Sandy mission in Rockland county. New York Guard personnel have served on motor pool augmentation details for the N.Y. National Guard since Hurricane Sandy hit.

Force Protection / Joint Task Force Sandy

CAMP SMITH, NY - As the Nor'easter hits, N.Y. Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Case Hoefgen from Sparrowbush and New York Guard Sergeant Kevin Gilleo from Elmhurst man the guard shack at the main entrance to Camp Smith. The New York Guard provided augmentation for post tasks at Camp Smith throughout JTF Sandy.

Mess Hall Augmentation

CAMP SMITH, NY - New York Guard Corporal Craig Schuman, 56th Brigade, bakes up a fresh batch of danish in the mess hall. NY Guard personnel are running a bakery to provide a little home-away-from-home for National Guard troops on JTF Sandy.

New York Guard Response to Hurricane Sandy 2012

CAMP SMITH, CORTLANDT, N.Y. - New York Guard First Sergeant Mark Copeletti from New Windsor, N.Y. performs an equipment check on a  Military Emergency Radio Network receiver at the Joint Task Force Sandy operations center on Nov 6, providing back-up communication capabilities for the National Guard response to Hurricane Sandy.
